Siggiewi is a city situated in the Southern region of Malta with a population of 8,367 people in an area of 19.9km² making it the third largest locality on the Island. Siggiewi is still known by its title of Citta Ferdinand.

One of the places that are definitely worth visiting in Siggiewi is Ghar Lapsi, here you will find a natural pool of sea with crystal blue waters and an interesting cave, a very popular swimming spot for locals. Siggiewi is located on a plateau between two deep valleys, Wied Zkor and Wied il-Hesri, quite close to Mdina which is the ancient capital of Malta. In Siggiewi, you can also find the Inquisitor’s Palace which dates back to 1625 and has now become the Prime Minister’s residence.
Siggiewi grew in size by taking on other smaller hamlets throughout the 14th century of which only their chapels remain as a reminder. In the 18th century, Grandmaster Ferdinand Von Hompesch proclaimed Siggiewi to be a city and named it after himself.
