Even though San Gwann may come across as a modern town, in between buildings, historic places of interest can be found for example the Mensija Cart Ruts. These Ruts date back to the Punic Times in 2300-1000 B.C. and suggest there was an agricultural community in the area, cultivating Wied il-Ballut, Wied Ghomor and Wied Gollieqa.
