Qawra is a town located in the Northern region of Malta and forms part of the St Paul’s Bay locality bordering Salina and Bugibba. Many foreigners struggle at first to pronounce Qawra, but the general advice is to drop the “Q” and say “awra” and you will get by.

The Promenade
The town is quite recently developed and attracts large numbers of tourists throughout the year. There are a lot of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and even a casino. You can find local cuisine, Chinese, Indian and a lot of pizzerias. Recently the National Aquarium was developed and has become a very popular point for tourists, families and schools. Just below the Aquarium is the Café del Mare beach club which has an infinity pool and a fine restaurant, this beach club often attracts large numbers for parties in the Summer evenings.

In 1638, the Order of St John built the Qawra Tower and a battery in 1715, both of which can still be found today but is now a restaurant called Fra Ben.

The National Aquarium
Property prices in Qawra are still at reasonable prices and therefore attracting a lot of first time buyers. The rental market is also very strong in Qawra as a lot of foreigners come to Malta to work for the Summer.
