Balzan is located in the center of the Island being the smallest out of The Three Villages (Balzan, Attard and Lija) at just 0.6km² but still having a population of 3958 people making it a very dense area, but nonetheless a beautiful town full of culture and history.
Taking a short stroll will inevitably lead you to The Parish Church which is dedicated to Our Lady of Annunciation and the layout in the form of a Latin Cross. Whilst walking around you will notice all sorts of statues of Saints tucked away in the corners.
Balzan is said to be named after a Sicilian tax collector who came to Malta to collect taxes for his Sicilian boss. Since he was residing in Balzan he had the town named after him.
Property in the town is mainly made up of large townhouses and Grand Villas but recently more apartment blocks have started to appear making it more affordable for first time buyers.
