Balzan is located in the center of the Island being the smallest out of The Three Villages (Balzan, Attard and Lija) at just 0.6km² but still having a population of 3958 people making it a very dense area, but nonetheless a beautiful town full of culture and history.

Parish Church
Taking a short stroll will inevitably lead you to The Parish Church which is dedicated to Our Lady of Annunciation and the layout in the form of a Latin Cross. Whilst walking around you will notice all sorts of statues of Saints tucked away in the corners.

Balzan is said to be named after a Sicilian tax collector who came to Malta to collect taxes for his Sicilian boss. Since he was residing in Balzan he had the town named after him.
